With the arrival of my new Surge Protector I wanted a cable I could use with one of its USB Ports to charge my devices. I decided to go with a 3-in-1 Charge and Sync Cable that has 3 different connectors on it a 30pin connector for older iOS Devices, a Lightning Connector for newer iOS Devices and a Micro USB Connector for most Android devices and other accessories.
The cable itself is retractable so perfect to take with you when travelling due to its small footprint. It can extend up to 70cm which is fine for most situations.
As said above the cable comes with 3 different connections which are all connected to the cable on a hinge type system so there is no chance of loosing the connectors.
I have tested the cable with an iPhone 4S, iPad 3, iPhone 5 and even an old ZTE Blade running Android. The cable functioned as expected for both charging and data sync.
There is only one slight drawback to this cable in the fact its not a genuine Apple product, which is not a problem in itself but when you plug it into a device running the upcoming iOS 7 you will be presented with the following popup message:
All you need to do is press dismiss and the cable will function as normal. I want to point out this is not limited to just this cable it will affect all non-genuine/licensed Lightning accessories when using iOS 7.
So to sum things up this cable is perfect for my needs and for the price you can’t really go wrong. If your looking for a 3-in-1 solution I would say this is it.
