My Top Cydia Jailbreak Tweaks

With the release of the Evasi0n iOS 6 Untethered Jailbreak I thought I would list my favourite Cydia Jailbreak Tweaks which I have found over the last few years.

I do not install a huge amount of Jailbreak Tweaks, simply enough to get the features I will use on a daily basis.

My Top Cydia Jailbreak Tweaks:

• Fake Operator
  This is a very simple Jailbreak Tweak to allow you to change the Carrier Logo Text via the iOS Settings Menu. For example instead of displaying “02-UK” I can have “Chris” instead, which is kind of fun.

• Flex
  One of the new Jailbreak Tweaks recently released, Flex (see screen shot above) allows to to create your own Jailbreak Tweaks by editing certain variables of the apps you have installed on your iOS Device including the Stock iOS Apps. You can also use the cloud feature and use Tweaks that others have created.

• BrowserChooser
  This is a simple Jailbreak Tweak that allows you to have other web browsers including Google Chrome as your default web browser. So if you click on a link in another app it will actually load in Google Chrome and not Safari.

• MapsOpener
  This is similar to BrowserChooser above, it will allow you to open all map links in Google Maps instead of Apple Maps.

• DismissMyKeyboard
  Ever found the iOS keyboard just gets in the way sometimes and you have no way to hide it? This is where DismissMyKeyboard comes in, simply swipe across the Space Bar and watch the keyboard disappear.

• PreviewMaker
  This is more of an iOS App than a tweak but it is well worth installing if you want pretty iOS Screen Shots. You simply take your iOS Screen Shot as normal then load it into PreviewMaker, you can then choose to wrap your screen shot with an image of your device, for example if you took the screen shot on an iPhone 4S you can wrap the image with an iPhone 4s.

• MultiStorey
  This is a simple tweak that gives you two rows of icons in your app switcher instead of one, making it easier to switch between apps.

• NCSettings
  This is one of my favourite Jailbreak Tweaks and is also one of the most practical. It adds toggle switches to the notification center in iOS to enable you to easily enable/disable things like WiFi, Bluetooth and Data with a press of a button. The great thing about this tweak is it matches the look and feel of iOS, giving you the impression its a standard feature of iOS.

• KillBackground
  This tweak adds a button to the app switcher allowing you to kill all running apps with a press of a button instead of doing each app individually.

• Giffy
  Ever wanted to display Animated Gifs in the Photos App? This tweak allows the Photos App to do just that, which is great when using apps like Jittergram.

• Gridlock
  This simple tweak allows you to move your icons anywhere on your home screen, they will still snap to the grid but the icons don’t need to be next to each other so you can create a homescreen layout the suits you.
